Colorado pastel artist Deborah Bays is intrigued with light and form. After more than two and a half decades in theater costume and scenery design, a team effort in most cases, she set out to become a pastel artist. Her favorite subjects are still lifes of all kinds, cats, women and rather mysterious, costumed characters. She seeks out light revealing form and, conversely, form revealing light. She is truly a Renaissance woman as she began her love for the Arts by studying the violin and viola before devoting her college years to costume and scenery design.
